New permission roles and environments for Designer Studio UNDER REVIEW
0

Hi,

for compliance and data protection reasons it would be great if there would exist more permissions.

A junior developer e.g. doesn’t need access to data sources, system settings. An idea would be to have more permission roles for apps, data sources, system settings and so on.
It would be nice too to have some kind of environments as they are known in Microsoft’s Power Platform. So different teams could work on their own apps and even create new apps in their environment.

It would be nice too having a functionality that shows data sources to app developers but before really using them having an approval step through the compliance/data source admin.

Just a few ideas to push it further and maybe you already have plans doing such things in Designer Studio Web?!

Hi,

if I understood everything correctly most of this is already covered with the current privileges.

If a person has only application administrator privileges he can only work on the given application. Data sources have to be assigned to the application before they can be used. You will have noticed the question when you are davon a new data sources whether applications should be assigned before saving.

In addition, we have the option to create dedicated databases.

The only missing parts would be:
- Creation of new applications
- Requesting new privileges

If it’s necessary and the persons don’t won’t to speak with each other or you need something for an audit you could create a dedicated process for it.
