Is there someone who didn't have the case to verify that a field value is unique per form type/business entity/step(s)? I for my part now, did implement this dozens of times
Finally, I realized, that I should streamline this approach and create a business rule for this. Even if it's easy to create the check, the business rule will force you to think about each parameter
You can read up on the business rule and the parameters: here.
But it shows again that WebCon is a poor tool as low-code. So many business requirements can be done only via SQL, JScript and with lot of tricks...
And what is a big disadvantage that you can not support yourself with any AI tool. It can be done aside but not within Designer Studio... It is closed solution, not modern and ... not good because of that.
:-(
I spoke with many people who have multiple years of experience in delivering applications with WEBCON. For the vast majority, the graphical rules editor is sufficient for the majority of cases. Additionally, they consider the possibility of extending it with T-SQL queries to be a plus, as it provides an additional layer of flexibility.
Regarding AI support, existing functionalities include AI Builder in Designer Desk (planned for integration into Designer Studio in the future) and automatic application translations. Additionally, as we speak, we're preparing a new, web-based version of Designer Studio that will be more modern, organized, and enhanced. Ultimately, it will replace the existing client-based version of it.
The current Designer Studio is a result of 18 years of continuous development. It can be overwhelming, especially at the very beginning. That's why I encourage every soon-to-be power user to participate in our training program. Would you be interested in that?
