New Report model with independent SQL UNDER REVIEW
4

Dear Webcon,
are you planning to give us a new Report model (in the data presentation) that allows us to use our own/independent SQL?

WEBCON

It's a nice idea and definitely could enhance the reporting capabilities. However, despite it sounds fairly trivial, it's the exact opposite. It's a high-complexity functionality in terms of it being universal for every WEBCON client. With that said at this point the amount of workload needed for implementation and maintenance is not justifiable. We'll consider your idea for the future though.

MVP

It would be great to have it, especially for parent/child workflows, where we have to create nested subqueries in calculated columns.

Although, i can see how handling custom SQL, will be a major pain on Webcon side - all those cases to which there should be a filter, grouping, aggregation functionalities - sounds hard to parse it and provide all those basic features on top of a query, which might be anything.
Maybe some query builder with restrictions would help too, but query builder sounds like another big feature, and it could be worse to use than just SQL which is rather common knowledge after a year of working on the platform.
