I always create an additional motif on each environment with the environment logo, Prod - company logo.
additional marking will also be very helpful.

We're already doing same thing, but it brings nothing to seeing which tab is which environment unless you click on the tab and check it ;)

In FF you can use : addon FoxyTab
and then configure in easy way web addresses...
I DID that way, and icon >> i don't care ... I have tab color :)

We discussed your suggestion. At this point, other development ideas will be prioritized based on the level of impact.
With that said, I'm glad we had some suggestions in this thread about individual browser settings that are helpful.
