On October 12, 2023, the Krakow University of Economics hosted a conference entitled "Alignment of ICT Related Curricula With Labour Market Expectations".
The conference summarized the results of the ICAM project, which involved researchers from both the Krakow University of Economics (UEK) and the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) who aimed to align educational programs in information and communication technologies (ICT) with the expectations of the labor market.
During the conference, Aleksandra Słuszniak, Digital Transformation Director at WEBCON, presented on the topic "Low-code process automation – changes in labour market trajectories". During her lecture, Ola emphasized how Low-code platforms are expanding the IT job market to professionals with diverse educational backgrounds and work experience. She also highlighted that a well-designed and implemented process is the result of effective communication and cooperation between the business and IT departments (citizen-assisted development). The presentation was guided by a quote from Forrester studies: "In next years, business roles will begin to require development skills. Many high-performance business people will also be expert low-code developers: the new digital elites."
The lecture captivated researchers and university teachers from both Poland and Norway, as well as numerous students who attended in great numbers and posed several insightful questions.
