WEBCON Standalone with SQL Web Edition
1

Dear Community,
does anyone have any experience installing WEBCON BPS Standalone version on SQL server Web Edition? Tried to find you if this version of SQL server is eligible to use with WEBCON BPS but didn't find anything accurate. From technical perspective it should work (required full-text search feature is available).
With this SQL server Web edition license costs can be significantly reduced (i.e. in Azure workloads).

Thanks in advance for aby comments here :)

Ask your MS Partner about licensing model first, please.

As I know (https://docs.microsoft.com/answers/storage/attachments/96089-sql-server-2019-licensing-guide.pdf) SQL Server Web Edition remains available only under the Microsoft Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) (but I am not a MS Licensing guru).

Technically SQL Web Edition is good to small and medium installation.

Dear Pawel,
Thanks for your feedback here. I will send a question to our MS Partner about licensing SQL Web Edition. But as I want to run it in Azure environment MS is SPLA partner here :) Due to complexity in Microsoft licensing it is worth having confirmation from them.

Yeah, I assume that an environment with less than two hundred users and less than twenty processes fit in "small to medium installations" :)

As soon as I get any response from Microsoft about it, I will share my knowledge here.

All the best!
