Saving sub-worflow ID to item list column

Hi,

I'm starting sub-workflow instances from item list. I would like to save sub-workflow instance ID to the related column of item list. I'm using automation having FOR EACH and Start sub-workflow action. All i can see is the possibility to save subworkflow ID to the form field, not item list columns. Is there a better way than having another action updating item list with the IDs?

HI Wojtek,

the easiest way is to care a local automation parameter.
You can use this parameter to store the sub-workflow id.
Afterwards you can use a change value action to store the value in the parameter in the item list column.

HI,
Here's another option, in the path were you're lauching the Subworkflow, you can add a Change Item list action and use the query to enter the ID:

select {WFCONCOL:1774} as DET_ID, WFD_ID as {DCNCOL:121}
from wfelements
where wfd_wfdid = {WFD_ID}
and WFD_Dtypeid = {DT:72}
and isnull({WFCONCOL:1774}, '') <> ''
