My UrL always references to systemAdmin User

Hi all,
I have installed WEBCON BPS and created a Test user in System settings → BPS users and groups list.
I assigned this Test user various permissions in Global privileges.
However, after logging out from the admin account, I am always redirected to the admin login URL, where I can log in only with the default Admin account

Hi Androsh,

those are for something else completely. WEBCON has no own user authentication. There’s no option to define passwords.

You could take a look at the installation video:

https://youtu.be/vA5mee6NlXU?si=gWXvSdIJ0ORtEdLw

Or search for Authentication providers.

Hi Daniel,

Now I have next problem, I configured Active Directory domain and did as in instruction/viedeo guide but as I was approaching end of configuration I made test user I changed inside of Webcon program Admin access on off and Active Directory on on in Authentification provider, I also synchronized Test user and I get this problem when I try to log in with this test user even if I put same user and password it says this, picture in attachments:
Small note I gave global privileges to Test user and only after checking all pre requirements to be ready to change user and start testing platform.

Hi Androsh,

I can only guess what my have happens, but let me write first what I understood.

- You have entered the BPS User and this user (bps is) also exists in AD. The BPS ID needs to match the user principle name attribute.
- You granted this user global privileges. Did you grant it system administrator privileges and /or global business administrator privileges. I would choose both in the current test scenario.
- You deactivated the admin access authentication provider completely
- The AD authentication provider has been activated for BPS Portal but maybe not for Designer studio, which is a second checkbox.

These two BPS Portal checkbox defines which authentication providers can be used by the end users. These can be different from those available when signing in to the Designer Studio.

You can modify these when you start the setup.exe of the installation program and select “Tools for application management”. This should allow you to enable the admin access again and AD for Designer Studio . I would leave the admin access enabled as an emergency backup.

Best regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I have reinstalled WEBCON to get access back to system Admin account(system bps admin), When I try to login as different account(test user), I get same issue I can login only to Admin acccount which requires password. I gave all global privileges, made user synchronization and in Authentification providers left Admin access: 0n and Active Directory, I set also on in both checkboxes. Pictures in attachment below:

Hi Androsh,

the setup looks good. What comes to my mind is:
- Did you do an IIS Reset / Recycle the application pool after enabling AD Authentication?
- Did you disable the loopbackcheck / configured the allowed back connection hostnames? This could be another problem, when you are able to select AD and want to connect to the server. Without this settings, you would be able to connect and sign in from another PC but not the one where the BPS Portal is running.

Hi Daniel,

Thank you, your last answer was very helpful and I now can login using my Test User, after this microsoft problem solving with "loopbackcheck", now I face two new problems :) .

First, I don't know if it is important for testing this solr errors(image 1 in attachments).

Secondly, I get this license problem when I try to login using bps designer studion App not browser( browser logins fine but shows this SOLR errors), my question is how I activate 90 days demo access? Or what should I do to open my Test User in BPS Designer Studio App and create my first Tasks etc( image 2).

Thank you very much,

Hi Androsh,

1) While the SOLR isn't necessarily relevant from a evaluation perspective it's annoying.
I've rarely run into any issues with SOLR. It just works. What you can check:
- Is the Windows service "WEBCON BPS Search Service" running
- Is there enough RAM left. I once configured in the installation that only 1 GB should be used and this didn't work out at all.

2) We are a partner, so I was never using the Demo License. I assume that you got a License Certificate with some tabular information on the left and a user and password on the right.
If this is the case, you can activate the license this way:
https://docs.webcon.com/docs/2026R1/Studio/Licence/Licence_ManualActivation

Please also grant your Test user global business administrator privileges.
https://docs.webcon.com/docs/2026R1/Studio/SystemSettings/GlobalParams/SystemSettings_GlobalSecurity#4-business-administrators

These will allow the user to do everything.
