Since the introduction of WEBCON BPS Portal, sometimes on the form or on Portal itself , it was possible to observe pop-ups that inform about the error and their identifier. But they very often did not give enough information, even after clicking the button to show details from the event preview. From version 2020.1.3.277, the error description from the event log has been made available in Designer Studio, which contains much more information to help find the cause more efficiently.

Some processes in WEBCON BPS require data from some other source to operate correctly. This data can be provided from external data sources such as SQL databases or SharePoint lists. Internal sources can also be created in the system such as Fixed value lists or references to data contained in WEBCON BPS workflows. Any WEBCON BPS process can be used as a source of data for another process, however, one of the newer WEBCON BPS features is the ability to create a dictionary process – whose sole purpose is storing information.

In WEBCON BPS version 2020, the support for digital signatures has been enhanced by preparing plugins (SDK – Software development kit) that enable digital signing of documents. Four plugins have been prepared that allow for integration with external digital signature providers: AdobeSign, Autenti, DocuSign, Skribble. Digital signatures are already an important business tool. This solution will only gain in popularity in the coming years, which is why it is so important to focus on this issue now. The workflow presented above is only an example of how to employ these new plugins (SDK) to supplement WEBCON BPS. These plugins, with minor modifications, can be added to any workflow.

WEBCON BPS provides tools for visual modification of the end user interface that goes with your system, like customizing the Portal interface theme to match your company’s colors, or inserting your own logo. In version 2020.1.3.277, the application color can now be selected from a color picker, instead of a list of predefined colors – so that finding a color that matches your company color scheme should not be a problem. To change the application color, go to the WEBCON BPS Designer Studio, enter the selected application and select the “General” tab.

Digitally signing attachments ensures the integrity and authenticity of approved documents and improves the entire approval process. This is especially important now when more and more businesses are choosing to allow remote work lyand have little time to adapt their procedures to the new model. From version 2020, the ability of making the electronic signatures in WEBCON BPS has been enhanced with SDK – dedicated plugins enabling integration with the electronic signature providers: AdobeSign, Autenti, DocuSign, Skribble. Thanks to the integration with these solutions, not only can WEBCON BPS users sign/approve the workflow attachments, but also any person to whom the document will be sent can do so aswell.

To personalize your WEBCON BPS Portal appearance you can change the logo and color scheme of the user interface.. The global system administrator has the ability to modify these elements of the site. This article describes how to add logo to Portal – and replace the WEBCON logo in the top left corner. In the previous versions of the system, setting a custom logo required copying the graphic file to the server and providing a link to it in the site settings. In 2020.1.3. there is the ability to add the graphic file directly from a file on your computer.

When building your business proces, there is the ability of adding a logo, picture, or other image decoration to the form – the simplest way to this is by using the “Picture” form field. WEBCON BPS Portal gives the ability to calculate the value of the picture in real time (without the need to save the document).Thanks to correctly configured form rules, you can easily manipulate pictures. This will help you to organize reports and increase the transparency of the presented data.

When designing processes and individual workflows in WEBCON BPS, it is good to know how data is stored in the tables, what are the relations between them and how the particular information is displayed on the form. The WFElementDetails table contains all rows from the item list including user input and system data. Each row is uniquely identified by using the unique ID (DET_ID). Each form field in WEBCON BPS has its unique ID assigned – it allows you to configure workflows with Item list types of form fields.

WEBCON BPS Standalone is what we call an installation of the system that operates without SharePoint. It was already possible to synchronize groups and individual users into the system by using the designated Portal interface. In version 2020.1.3., a new functionality for managing BPS groups and users has been added to supplement this process. The “Synchronization mode” parameter defines whether the action is to wait for the synchronization process to complete. Both synchronization modes are described in the context help in the system under the “F1” button.
