This would result again in xxxx REST requests, but at least they are scope d to their own workflow instance and shouldn't run into a timeout. If some requests fail, because there are to many. Is there a way to make it so a report consumer can only view his report in Portal and not Archive or make it so that the effective access is scope d to only instances of a selected workflow?
