Applies to version: 2021.1.x and above; author: Daniel Półchłopek Introduction In WEBCON BPS it is possible to search the contents of PDF attachments containing text using the ABBYY FineReader program. (...) stomers (a mix of companies and persons) - each customer can have one or more banking accounts - each account can have one or more connected credit cards I would like to give the users the option to search for a customer using data from each of the categories mentioned above. I'm trying to avoid importing this data as workflows because the data are live, each day new customers are added and old ones ch (...)

(...) 'm wrong I attached an image showing how to implement something like this in general. The only difference to your case is, that I'm connecting only two tables. I selected in which fields the user can search and changed the picker search mode, other tab, to contains. At least this would be the option if you can access the data by SQL. Otherwise you would need to have some rest/soap method. If you are usi (...)

(...) ime to answer. I'm importing the mentioned data to a database on the same SQL server where Webcon database is so your solution was partly OK. I just realized I didn't give all correct details. With searching I meant using the Webcon search functionality in the header of the application. I will try to give a more detailed description of what I want to achieve: I would like to give the users the abili (...)

(...) Hi Martin, so my answer was heading in the wrong direction. I don't think you are able to configure the search to crawl through a non BPS database. Even if you could, how would you want to present the information to the user? My only idea here is to create a single workflow for each customer. The only value here is your global field with the customer number. All other information would be retrieved v (...)

Thank you Daniel! I think I will go with your proposed solution, importing only the customer ID and having all other fields retrieve other data from external database. I like this solution because I don't have to update existing workflows. :)

Hi Martin, keep us updated how it works. Maybe someone else faces a similar situation and it would be good to have some "real life" feedback. :) Best regards, Daniel

(...) Good morning, How to disable showing attachments from a specific workflow in search results?

(...) Hello, I don`t think you can disable it for specific workflows, only for entire procces by unchecking the option 'Add attachment content to SOLR search index' in Settings

Thanks for the hint Sebastian. I wasn't aware of this setting. If Damian is lucky and there's only a single workflow in his process. If this is not the case the only option would be to restrict the access by using appropriate permissions.

(...) Thanks for the help. I have several processes / workflows and for one only I don't want attachments to be in search results. Disabling the content of attachments allows attachments to be shown in search results. Sorry for my English.

(...) ss 3. Delete all other workflows and unnecessary objects in the new copy. 4. Remove the permissions on the application level of the copy. 5. Disable the checkmark for "Add attachment content to SOLR search index" 6. Add the copy as a related process back to the original This will allow you to create reports on the workflow/process copy in the original application. Depending on you use case this may (...)

(...) Damian. If you want to remove all information about process attachments (names, titles, properties etc..) from the search index you have to disable (uncheck) the option "Add attachment content to SOLR search index" and then Clear the Solr index and then Reindex SOLR database (WEBCON BPS Designer Studio -> Reports -> Basic Reports -> SOLR indexer queue -> ADD -> Clear index. WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! (...)

(...) Thank for help! I disabled SOLR search only for my process and ran cleanup and reindex for it. It worked! On the test database, of course :) Thanks a lot!

(...) Hi, a user just tried to search for a word through all documents in a report via the report's search panel, using the "search in Attachments" option. As the hitlist was way too small I got called. I found out that the result only includes instances that have the searched term somewhere in the metadata. If i do a global search I get hundreds of hits - so the documents are properly indexed, and can be (...)
