WEBCON BPS allows you to generate/update Word documents (e.g. invoices, contracts) based on a template with the application parameters inserted, and – if necessary, convert them to PDF format. To do this, you need a special Word add-in to be downloaded from WEBCON BPS Portal. The next step is to connect this add-in to the BPS server – go to the WEBCON BPS tab (in Word), click the “User settings” option, enter the server URL and click the “Connect” button. The actions of generating documents allows for wide parametrization and automatization of manual filling in documents. When you need only the PDF file, the good solution is to use the Delete attachment action (placed behind the action of PDF generating).

In WEBCON BPS, it is possible to limit the types of attachments that can be added to workflow instances due to their type and size. This option can be used to block the ability to add potentially dangerous attachments to the Portal such as scripts, executables, spreadsheets with macros. The restriction will be set globally for all applications/processes and all places where you can add an attachment – forms, HotFolders, HotMailBoxes, API. When specifying the attachment’s size – remember that the IIS server setting is the overriding limitation on the size of the added file.

The article presents how to expand the WEBCON BPS installation with new application servers to easily support the higher load and increase the availability and reliability of WEBCON BPS applications. Each subsequent WEBCON BPS application server requires an appropriate license. The WEBCON BPS Search Server component is an exception. The existing WEBCON BPS environment consists of two servers: application server working as BPS Portal, BPS Service, BPS Search Server, and SQL Server dedicated to WEBCON BPS applications - to ensure high availability, the instance should support this functionality.

The WEBCON BPS system enables the synchronization of exchange rates. The available sources of currency data are exchange rate tables provided by the National Bank of Poland, the European Central Bank, and the Central Bank of Russia. This article describes how to download and convert the rates provided by the European Central Bank (ECB). The table of exchange rates of the ECB returns the conversion rate of how many units of a given currency corresponds to the value of one euro. The article also shows how to convert the exchange rate on weekends (the ECB exchange rate table does not return values for weekends).
