When working with WEBCON BPS, there is often a need to copy a link to an instance e.g. to send it to another person. If you work in full window mode, the instance can be copied from the URL field in the browser. From version 2020.1.3. you can copy the link to the instance by using the button located in the upper right corner of the preview window. Moving from the report level to the instance displayed in the full window, the address bar will contain the full link along with the returnurl parameter.

In WEBCON BPS version 2020, the support for digital signatures has been enhanced by preparing plugins (SDK – Software development kit) that enable digital signing of documents. The following article describes the process of signing documents by using DocuSign software. The plugin can be installed in any WEBCON BPS installation that uses version 2020 or higher. You must have the DocuSign account (with the ability of using API) and an integration key generated.

Item list - actions

The item list is frequently used to store any number of data rows as opposed to other form fields. This functionality makes the actions executed on the item list differ from the standard form field configuration. This article describes the operation of the item list and the configuration of various actions related to them based on the Personnel planning workflow. The application consists of two processes: the dictionary process (with two steps and used to store the document templates) and the main “Personnel planning” process. This process allows you to define the demand for human resources and assign the specific employees to the project with an automatic valuation and generation of the relevant documents.

E-mail notifications are one of the most frequently used methods of informing employees about new tasks in WEBCON BPS system. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish from which process they were sent, because they have the same sender address. In addition, they often contain all form fields from the form – even those that you would like to avoid being sent outside the system. In such cases, WEBCON BPS offers two simple functionalities – the first one is defining the sender’s shipping address, while the second one allows you to hide the specific form fields in notifications.

Since the introduction of WEBCON BPS Portal, sometimes on the form or on Portal itself , it was possible to observe pop-ups that inform about the error and their identifier. But they very often did not give enough information, even after clicking the button to show details from the event preview. From version 2020.1.3.277, the error description from the event log has been made available in Designer Studio, which contains much more information to help find the cause more efficiently.

Some processes in WEBCON BPS require data from some other source to operate correctly. This data can be provided from external data sources such as SQL databases or SharePoint lists. Internal sources can also be created in the system such as Fixed value lists or references to data contained in WEBCON BPS workflows. Any WEBCON BPS process can be used as a source of data for another process, however, one of the newer WEBCON BPS features is the ability to create a dictionary process – whose sole purpose is storing information.

In WEBCON BPS version 2020, the support for digital signatures has been enhanced by preparing plugins (SDK – Software development kit) that enable digital signing of documents. Four plugins have been prepared that allow for integration with external digital signature providers: AdobeSign, Autenti, DocuSign, Skribble. Digital signatures are already an important business tool. This solution will only gain in popularity in the coming years, which is why it is so important to focus on this issue now. The workflow presented above is only an example of how to employ these new plugins (SDK) to supplement WEBCON BPS. These plugins, with minor modifications, can be added to any workflow.

WEBCON BPS provides tools for visual modification of the end user interface that goes with your system, like customizing the Portal interface theme to match your company’s colors, or inserting your own logo. In version 2020.1.3.277, the application color can now be selected from a color picker, instead of a list of predefined colors – so that finding a color that matches your company color scheme should not be a problem. To change the application color, go to the WEBCON BPS Designer Studio, enter the selected application and select the “General” tab.

Digitally signing attachments ensures the integrity and authenticity of approved documents and improves the entire approval process. This is especially important now when more and more businesses are choosing to allow remote work lyand have little time to adapt their procedures to the new model. From version 2020, the ability of making the electronic signatures in WEBCON BPS has been enhanced with SDK – dedicated plugins enabling integration with the electronic signature providers: AdobeSign, Autenti, DocuSign, Skribble. Thanks to the integration with these solutions, not only can WEBCON BPS users sign/approve the workflow attachments, but also any person to whom the document will be sent can do so aswell.

To personalize your WEBCON BPS Portal appearance you can change the logo and color scheme of the user interface.. The global system administrator has the ability to modify these elements of the site. This article describes how to add logo to Portal – and replace the WEBCON logo in the top left corner. In the previous versions of the system, setting a custom logo required copying the graphic file to the server and providing a link to it in the site settings. In 2020.1.3. there is the ability to add the graphic file directly from a file on your computer.
